design from workshops for the handicapped

Demanding designer products produced by physically and mentally handicapped persons, is that possible? It is »The results are just perfect«, designer Andreas Kraeftner, a member of the Factor design group, praises the quality of the product that he designed.

Quality and design must be convincing - with this goal in mind, we presented the first side by side colllection in 2002. We are extremely pleased that the response has been so positive from the start that we have been able to double our product palette in the meantime.

Wendelstein Werkstätten employs 120 disabled workers in different departments, including 80 who work in the well equipped wood workshop.

Sustainability

For ecological reasons, we primarily use domestic wood. Wood surfaces are left untreated or are treated with environmentally friendly oils, waxes or lacquer. The majority of our products are hand-made in our workshop or in one of nine other workshops for people with disabilities. The workshops are supported by the non-profit organization "Caritas Verband der Erzdiözese München und Freising e.V.".
